We don't know about you, but we love wild-caught, all-natural smoked salmon for all kinds of reasons - especially convenience, nutritious snackability, and big flavor!

If you're in the same boat 🚒 , then you're in luck, because we’re offering TWO types of delicious smoked salmon! Our Cold Smoked Sockeye and Hot Smoked Sockeye are quite different from each other, each type is delectable in its own way.

Both of these offerings can be found on the Add-ons page or they can be part of a Custom box plan.

❄️ Cold Smoked Sockeye

Our Cold Smoked Sockeye, prepared Nova style, is lightly cured using salt and brown sugar and smoked over low temperatures on racks using Alderwood. This process gives smoked sockeye a tender, velvety texture and a gentle smokiness while preserving its rich salmon flavor. We use all-natural ingredients with no additives or preservatives! Although both types of smoked sockeye can be eaten right out of the pack and can be used in similar preparations, our Nova tends to be fattier and more subtle in flavor than the Hot Smoked Sockeye - more on that below!

πŸ”₯ Hot Smoked Sockeye - Peppered

We are ecstatic to have this tasty (and, dare we say, possibly addictive) addition to our product lineup! It’s super easy and versatile to add to any meal or protein-packed snack.

Of course our Hot Smoked Sockeye uses all-natural ingredients with no additives or preservatives! It is brined in salt and brown sugar, perfectly coated with finely ground black pepper, and then smoked in a hardwood blend of Maple, Beech, Hickory, Cherry, Oak and Pecan. Hot Smoked Sockeye gets its name from the higher temperatures used to smoke the fish and would not described as spicy, rather, it is peppery. The result is a drier, flakier texture and robust, meaty flavor - think similar in flavor to salmon jerky - that pairs beautifully with something creamy. 🍽 Preparation and Recipes

Both types of smoked sockeye are fully cured and ready to eat straight from the package! No cooking or heating necessary.

Unlike our raw fish fillet portions and other seafood, you do not need to worry about removing or puncturing the packaging prior to thawing our smoked salmon. You can simply remove them from the freezer, pop them in the fridge, and enjoy! They will typically thaw within 12 hours. Once defrosted, both types have a 30-day shelf life in your refrigerator while still sealed, and a 5-day shelf life in your refrigerator after the package has been opened.

Even though we believe these beautiful smoked creations are tasty enough to eat on their own right out of the pack, there's no doubt that they are also super versatile for snacking and adding to meals. πŸ˜‹ πŸ”₯ 🐟 If you're looking for inspiration, here are some of our favorite suggestions for playing with your Smoked Sockeye:
